What parents should do to prepare themselves and their children for online lessons at LudicLanguage.

1. Let the child know this will be an exciting new adventure where they will be the main character. Kids respond better to positive attitudes and encouragement. If the child feels negativity towards a person, opportunity or situation they will be much less likely to feel motivation towards the lesson.
2. Cultivate a curious mindset, let your child know this is going to help them learn new things about another culture, language and people.
3. Learning a new language can be done in different ways and it is important for parents to be open to let their child explore, make mistakes and learn from them.
4. Create a designated learning space as distraction-free as possible, where the student feels comfortable and happy.
5. Follow the teacher’s directions carefully and prepare everything in advance. Be sure your learning space is set up with everything needed such as devices, audio equipment, internet connection, whiteboards, pencil, markers etc.
6. An accurate and reliable device such as a computer with a camera or tablet. If a bigger screen is available than a phone screen, please use that as it will help them see more clearly what the teacher is showing them.
7. Headphones will be helpful to keep the students focused. Speakers can be used as well if they are able to project sound clearly.
8. If there is an internet connection problem or a device fails, keep calm. If you cannot fix it during the lesson time, simply send an email or wait for an email from the teacher to reschedule the lesson or implement another strategy for the day.
9. Access to the video conference platform (Zoom. Skype, etc.) that the teacher will be using for the lesson.
